Dear colleagues and friends,
Greetings from Ljubljana! We hope you are all healthy and doing well in these unusual times. Although warmer and sunny days bring an air of optimism, the epidemiological situation remains uncertain in Europe and around the world. As you might have expected, we will not be able to organize the 3rd EAAA Conference in Ljubljana in 2021 as planned, despite our best efforts to do so. Since we believe that an online version of the conference cannot provide participants and attendees with an equally rewarding experience, the EAAA Board decided to postpone the “physical” conference until 2023. A new call for papers will be issued for the 2023 conference and you are all kindly invited to submit your abstracts at the time.
However, to keep in touch and engage in fruitful discussions with you, we will organize an online series of panel presentations taking place at regular intervals from September 2021 on. Individual papers and pre-organized panels accepted for this year’s conference will not be carried over to the conference in 2023, but we would like to invite you to participate with your presentations in the online panel sessions. If you would like to present your individual paper or panel this autumn online, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your participation by 31 March.
We will keep all the participants informed of any progress and/or changes regarding the postponed conference and the online panel sessions via the official mailing list. We thank you for your understanding and hope that you will be able to join us online in autumn, as well as participate at the conference in 2023.
Should you have any questions regarding the postponement, the conference, or the online panel sessions, please do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We wish everyone well during this challenging period. Stay safe and healthy!
With kindest regards,
EAAA Conference organizing team,
Nataša Vampelj Suhadolnik
President of the European Association for Asian Art and Archaeology (EAAA)
