CfA: J. S. Lee Memorial Fellowship Programme 2024/25

Established by Bei Shan Tang Foundation in 2008 in memory of the late Founder Dr. Lee Jung Sen, the Programme supports outstanding and promising museum professionals and scholars in the field of Chinese art and culture to engage in full-time research and exchange at museums and academic institutions abroad for a period of 4 to 12 months. Participants will gain valuable research and curatorial experiences, benefiting their home institution as well as their own professional growth.

Whether your specialty lies in Chinese art history study, curatorship, archaeology, conservation, museum management, or education, etc., the Programme welcomes eligible applicants with a relevant bachelor’s degree or higher qualification to apply. There are no restrictions on the age or nationality of the applicant.

The Programme’s global network comprises 60 participating institutions worldwide with significant collections of Chinese art and 68 fellows, with a common goal to foster international collaboration and make a positive impact in the field of Chinese art and culture. Fellows will receive full funding for airfare, visa, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses. Prior to submitting the application, applicants are advised to contact host institutions to confirm project feasibility. Additionally, some institutions have proposed projects available for application, with more information to be updated on the Programme’s website in due course.
