We are pleased to announce that the Elling Eide Center in Sarasota (FL) will host the 26th annual Southeast Early China Roundtable (SEECR), November 11-13th, 2022.

The conference will begin with Dr. Keith Knapp’s keynote address entitled ““The Birth of Popular Confucianism: Evidence from Dunhuang of the Creation of the Twenty-four Filial Exemplars” at 5:30 p.m. on November 11 (Friday) at the Elling Eide Library.

Proposals for presentations focusing on early China from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, including anthropology, archaeology, art history, history, literature, philosophy, and religious studies are all welcomed. Please send a short abstract (250 words) of your presentation and full institutional contact information to Dr. Matthew Wells (mwells@ellingoeide.org) by September 1. Early submissions are welcome. In accordance with SEECR tradition, lodging and meals will be provided for presenters.
