We kindly invite you to the international conference ‘Boxerloot! Museum collections, the ‘Boxer war’ and practices of plunder’ that will take place in Munich at the Museum Fünf Kontinente, from February 22-23, 2024.

The conference is being organised as part of the project Traces of the ‘Boxer War’ in German Museum Collections – a joint approach (smb.museum) in which seven German museums in cooperation with the Palace Museum Beijing are jointly researching their collections for objects looted around 1900 during the suppression of the ‘Boxer War’ / Yihéquán in China.

Conference language is English. The event is free of charge. Please register under boxerprojekt@smb.spk-berlin.de until February 18th, 2024 (places are limited, preference will be given to the first registrations). If you are interested in attending online, please let us know as well as we are currently working on making this possible.
