In 2020, the collection was discovered by a research group from the University of Zurich, who found the works, including botanical drawings, as well as numerous woodblock printed books. The discovery resulted in a collaboration between the University of Zurich and the Graphische Sammlung ETH Zurich and its curator Dr. Susanne Pollack. The remarkable East Asian collection will be shown to the public for the very first time in an exhibition starting on August 17, 2022. The results of the research for the exhibition are recorded in this publication that will be available by the time of the opening of the exhibition.
